After being accepted into veterinary medicine after leaving school, I did not pursue studies in the field with the idea that I wanted to pursue writing instead. Many years later, I completed my studies in writing but ended up as a Receptionist at a veterinary practice. Now, I am combining my love of writing and sharing stories with the love I have for my job and the industry I work in.

The veterinary industry is in crisis. Extreme staff shortages and mental health strain is bringing many within the industry to put an end to their career or worse. Awareness groups such as Sophie's Legacy, Flynn's Walk and Not One More Vet (NOMV) were founded with the intention of bringing awareness of this crisis to the forefront. Figures show that one vet will die by suicide every 12 weeks in Australia alone (AVA, 2021). This does not include nurses, techs, receptionists, or the rest of the world.
